About Us

Active Care & Rehabilitation

Active Care at South Georgia Chiropractic
"There may be psychological advantages in making patients responsible for their own treatment rather than victims of their own symptoms. If there is the slightest chance that patients can be educated in a method of treatment that enables them to reduce their own pain and disability using their own understanding and resources, they should receive that education. Every patient is entitled to this information, and every therapist should be obliged to provide it."

- Robin McKenzie, OBE, FCSP, FNZP (Hon), DIP MT

At South Georgia Chiropractic, we promote and encourage an active approach to treatment. Rather than encouraging our patients to continue with care and become dependent on our therapies, we empower our patients to defeat pain by educating them on appropriate home exercise techniques designed to maintain the improvements we are able to gain through treatment.

Research concludes that patients who understand their condition and are trained in rehabilitative techniques for their specific disorder, respond MUCH better to care. One study found that 68.3% of patients with neck pain felt either 'much improved' or 'completely recovered' following a chiropractic treatment plan which incorporated rehabilitative exercises and a home strengthening program. Another found that chronic low back pain and weaknesses of lumbar spinal stabilization muscles are very closely linked. Our rehabilitative therapies result in increasing your range of motion and retraining the affected musculature to help protect and stabilize the injured area. Remember, our goal is not only to treat your current symptoms, but to EMPOWER you with the KNOWLEDGE of how to reduce those symptoms in the future. Defeat pain. Feel better, Get ACTIVE.
